Position for Opportunities
I have seen and experienced the power of LinkedIn since I joined the platform but also experienced the intimidation and the idea that LinkedIn is for professionals only. This gives me the leverage to share with you some of the things to do to position yourself for opportunities.
But first, I'll share with you some of the benefits I have gotten from the platform.
Meeting and engaging with top professionals
Looking from outside in, you'd think I am extroverted that's why I'm able to express myself on LinkedIn but that's not the case. The fact that it's online is more reason I can interact with professionals of all levels I would otherwise not speak to. It's much easier, from my experience, to do so than in person and a better avenue to prepare for an in-person meeting.
Getting access to a pool of mentors
I have had the chance to, be, directly and indirectly, mentored by people from different backgrounds.
Job opportunities
This is one of the main reasons a lot of people join LinkedIn and if you position yourself well, you can get people sending job opportunities your way. I have had some recruiters from Big 4 companies and others reach out to me for jobs.
And many more...
You'll be able to, create a winning profile that attracts opportunities, communicate effectively with mentors and professionals, create a strong brand strategy to present your best self to potential employers, schools and mentors and engage with your network through commenting and sharing your thoughts.
